Jacoby Dickens Center Pool Renovation

The project includes the renovation of the existing natatorium at the Jacoby Dickens Center on the campus of Chicago State University. The Swimming Area is one of the largest in the Chicago. It features a beginning pool (3-5ft), 8 lane lap pool (8ft), and a 14ft diving well.

The primary scope of work includes the replacement of the existing natatorium HVAC system, the renovation of the existing swimming pools and the replacement of the existing swimming pool mechanical systems, the replacement of the existing natatorium roof.

Barbara Jean Wright Court Apartments

Barbara Jean Wright Courts is a 272-unit, low-rise, 40% family Section 8 community located abetween Little Italy and the Lower West Side, just north of Pilsen, and immediately adjacent to the University of Illinois Chicago main campus. The community was originally built in the 1970s in part because of the advocacy of Ms. Barbara Jean Wright.

Renovations will include the replacement of kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, painting, HVAC systems, and boilers. The capital plan also anticipates the new construction of a community building which will include multi-purpose rooms as well as offices for property management and resident services.

Rehabilitation of an existing unoccupied 3-1/2 story masonry building at the corner of Ada and Taylor Streets. Roughly 57% of the building will be core and shell finish for future completion by the National Public Housing Museum, and the remaining space will be built out and completed as 15 residential units located on the north side of the building.
